He healed to the last, and healeth still, and from his healing none arise. — Chronicle of the Ruins 6:4
One doctor kept working at the hospital on Garden Street to the very end. When the sick outnumbered the beds, he put on the beaked mask. The hall drowns in plague: the fog burns until you light the braziers; the Doctor heals at the cauldron in the middle — smash it and the healing ends.
He heals because Death does not come. Without her the sick neither died nor recovered — they lay and waited, and he walked among them. One day he understood there was no point in waiting: the Book is shut, and no one's hour will be written. Since then he sets it himself.
Phases
I · Pestilence — from the start. II · Shades in the Fog — from 60% health. III · Wrath — from 25%.
Fog and fire
The fog burns 3 every 0.5 s. Light a brazier — a 4.2 m circle of light stays clean for 18 s. The Doctor walks over to blow them out.
Darkness giveth way before fire; kindle it, and stand in the light.
Cure
Below 85% health he hurries to the cauldron and heals 170 per second. The cauldron has 700 toughness: smash it — the healing breaks and he is defenceless for 3 s.
Break the physician's vessel, and there shall be no healing for him.
Flasks
3 flasks, in wrath 4, into circles, the first one with a lead. The splash deals 18, leaving a plague pool for 8 s — 4 every 0.5 s. The flasks land across your path — move forward or back.
The flasks fall across the way; go forward or back.
Rat flood
A 2.6 m strip to the wall freezes 0.45 s ahead; rats pour from under his coat at 11 m/s — 4 every 0.25 s. Step aside or jump.
The flood of rats runneth straight; turn aside.
Cloak gust
A 6.5 m ring: 12 and a push, braziers within 9.5 m go out.
He waved his cloak — and the light round about went out.
Shades in the fog
2 shades rise around you, in wrath 3; once close they strike for 16 in a 1.3 m circle. Light dispels them, blades pass through — lead them to a brazier.
Shades fear the light, not the blade; lead them to the fire.
